Video Analyses – News Packages
Using the ‘language’ of video in your critiques, for each video linked below complete the following:

Analysis Guidelines
• For each Video, critique elements from each of the following categories: Camera Work, Interviewing, Writing, Editing.
• Additionally, each analysis should include the following:
• THE GOOD: Discuss at least three things the video did well.
• THE BAD: Discuss at least three things the video did poorly (or at least ‘less than well’) AND explain how you could have fixed each of the three problems you identified.
• OUTLINE: Break the story down into a written outline, attempting to arrange the story with an Introduction, Main Ideas (Body), and Conclusion. If, based on lack of information, you can not make an outline with each of the above elements (intro, body, conclusion), explain what you could add to fill in the missing pieces.
• RATING: Rate the Video on a scale of 1-5 (5 being best) AND explain why you gave it that rating (full sentences please).
